GENERAL INFORMATION

It is used as a wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne automotive and industrial coatings and pigment concentrates. Particularly suitable for stabilizing highly pigmented carbon blacks and organic pigments, especially in two-component polyurethane and baked enamel systems, with a significant reduction of the viscosity of the abrasive.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

It unflocates and stabilizes pigments by spatial site resistance.It provides an equal charge to the pigment particles. The resulting repulsive and spatial stabilization prevents possible co-flocculation and prevents color float and bloom in multi-color systems. The result is an increase in gloss, color strength, transparency and hiding power, as well as a reduction in milling viscosity.

STORAGE and TRANSPORT

Delamination or turbidity may occur at temperatures below 0°C. Heating to 20°C and mixing thoroughly will not affect the performance.

Storage time is not recommended to exceed 12 months.

SPECIAL NOTES

The surface treatment of some organic pigments may adversely affect the effectiveness of the wetting and dispersing agent. In such cases, untreated pigments of the same type may be used. When used in coil coatings, the interaction between the cationic additive and the acid catalyst must be considered. Free or epoxy-encapsulated acids are preferable to amine-encapsulated acids.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS

Additive dosage (in purchased form) is based on pigment:

Titanium dioxide: 5%-6%

Inorganic pigments: 10%-15

Organic pigments: 30%-80%

Carbon black: 70%-140

The above figures are empirical and the optimum dosage should be determined by a series of tests.

INCORPORATION and PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

For best performance, premix the grinding resin and solvent components, then add Anjeka-6176 with stirring; after the grinding resin and solvent are well mixed, add the pigment with stirring. Pigments should not be added until the additives are well mixed.
